Stocking is one of the most important activities in running a successful trout fishery, especially a sporting-ticket (incl. catch and release) small, still-water like Frensham.
Fish quantity monitoring is required in order to maintain a balanced ecosystem, while ensuring the optimum number of fish. Fish size and weight, and species characteristics, are all matters that need careful consideration.
Whilst we have gained invaluable experience of stocking at Frensham over a number of years, and think we have now got it just about right, there is always room for improvement…………
It goes without saying that we will continue to review and make adjustments as we go forward, just to ensure that we are able to provide the best possible conditions for our visitors.
Tight lines,
Matt, Fishery Manager
