The BBC’s programme ‘Our Troubled Rivers‘ presented by ‘Gone Fishing’s‘ Paul Whitehouse has highlighted some major issues affecting UK rivers today. At Frensham we run our own checks from time to time just to ensure that there are no such problems. We are pleased to say that following kick sampling and netting earlier this week, we found plenty of gammarus, wild brown trout (a keystone species) and a significant nos of lampreys, both immediately upstream and downstream of the Fishery, which are all indicators of good water quality. We will be testing regularly in the future in order to closely monitor the situation.
